Born in 1988 in Kaohsiung, Chen Han-Sheng is a graduate of the Institute of New Media Art at Taipei National University of the Arts, and currently lives in Taipei. He specializes in photography, video-recording, and kinetic installations. As an artist, Chen incorporates his background and identity into his all of his creations. Themes of his works include agriculture, nature, and the coexistence of and tension between humanity and the environment. Among his accolades are the first prize in Next Art Tainan, second prize at the MATA Awards, and he was selected for the Taoyuan Contemporary Art Award, the Digital Art Awards Taipei, the annual National Art Exhibition, as well as the Shenzhen Independent Animation Biennale. In recent years, his interest in gender issues has led him to organize a project called “Coexist + Exhibition,” in which heorganizes exhibitions in search of alternative means of dialog and conversation through art and curatorial projects. Chen has carried out curatorial projects for FreeS Art Space, the Digi Ark at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts,the Nanhai Gallery, and YIRI Arts.
