In relation to aspects of landscapes and cityscapes, I am trying to pinpoint what we call “The Unknown”. I investigate the discrepancy between one's private space and the space others claim. Subjects of my works are displacement, transformation and exploration. In order to do my artistic research, I like to go to unfamiliar places and observe local structures, urban everyday life and traditional customs. Travel became the impetus of my work. All of my artworks have an assembled, collage-like appearance in common. They display alienated sceneries, which are constructed of different memories of shapes, colours and structures from diverse places. They form an unfamiliar view on landscape or architecture, questioning our common way of interpreting our surroundings.I started my career as a painter, thus I am aiming to find ways to extend painting beyond a two-dimensional space. Being flexible regarding the materials and methods used is a priority for me. I am constantly searching for opportunities to broaden my technical skills and to experiment with new materials.
