Anna Jankowska was born in 1983, in Poland. She designs and experimentswith textiles, conceptual fashion and cloth-forms. She is an artist but also aresearcher as she is doing Ph.D. in the field of Cultural & Asian Studies. Her‘artist meets scholar’ identity is an important part of the majority of herprojects and she aims to merge art practice with academic research’s subjectand methodology.
Anna is particularly interested in signs and symbols of indigenouscultures, but also in symbolism and narratives of urban space; interconnectionsbetween tradition and modernization; embodied experience of space and time. Sheis into experimental pattern and narrative adorning techniques. The core of hercreative activities is participatory design. She likes working with localcommunities and individuals.
